Getting ready for school

Each year, children join the Reception class at Isleham C of E Primary School the September after their 4th birthday.

The school encourages parents to support their children in being ready for school through their communication, social development, motor control and developing independence. Please read the documents below carefully to ensure your child is 'school ready' and confident.

 

We ask for social skills to be developed before entering school, eg.  using a knife and fork, washing hands, wiping after the toilet and dressing themselves.  We can teach everything else, if you have developed a can do attitude and a level of resilience for trying themselves!
