Principal's Welcome

Welcome to St Joseph's, Carryduff. Our website contains a wide range of information about life in St Joseph's. This includes news of the children's achievements and information about the policies and procedures which govern important aspects of our work. The school profile below seeks to capture the key aspects of provision in St Joseph's and hopefully, it will provide you with helpful information about our school. However, if you would like further clarification about any aspect of life in St Joseph's, please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to answer any queries you may have.

Our Welcome to Nursery and Welcome Primary One videos are a great way for new pupils to become familiar with their classroom and the school building. In these videos some of our older pupils provide a virtual tour of the school and explain some of the school's routines.

The News section provides regular updates about the various activities undertaken by the children in all of the Year Groups. Information about the children's achievements and announcements about any upcoming events are also included.

The Parents Information section contains a list of key dates, the school dinner menu, guidance about healthy eating and details of the after school activities. The policies and procedures which govern important aspects of our work are also included in this section along with the School Prospectus which provides detailed information about all aspects of school life. The Board of Governors' Annual Report to Parents will give you an overview of the work of the school during the past year and an account of how the Board of Governors, school management and staff have carried out their responsibilities. Finally, you will be able to read the Education and Training Inspectorate's report of its most recent inspection of St Joseph's.

Child Protection and Safeguarding is a key responsibility for all members of our school community and, an increasingly important aspect of this work, is supporting the children to stay safe on line. Our School Council have produced helpful guidance for the pupils and they have presented these key messages in their eSafety videos. These provide helpful reminders to us all of the important steps to take in order to keep ourselves safe online.
